Fudgy brownies infused with ripe bananas, combining the best of banana bread and chocolatey goodness for an indulgent treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  5. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gently fold the dry mixture into the banana mixture using a rubber spatula.
  8. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  11. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, consider adding nuts or swirling in peanut butter. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
