Description

A delightful dish featuring crispy chicken tenderloins coated in a creamy, spicy Bang Bang Sauce, perfect for sharing with family and friends.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Canola oil (for frying)
  • Parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey. Whisk together until smooth to make the Bang Bang Sauce.
  2. Soak chicken tenderloins in buttermilk for at least 10 minutes.
  3. In three shallow dishes, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne in the first dish; whisk egg and reserved Sriracha in the second; and place panko breadcrumbs in the third.
  4. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mix, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat canola oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot. Fry chicken pieces in batches for about 6 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve drizzled with Bang Bang Sauce, garnished with parsley.

Notes

Marinate chicken overnight for enhanced flavor. Use gluten-free ingredients for a gluten-free version.
