- 5 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- Toppings: Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chopped pecans or walnuts, caramel drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease your baking dish.
- Mix the bananas, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt in a bowl until well coated.
- Prepare the batter by whisking together self-rising flour, milk, and additional sugar in another bowl.
- Assemble by pouring the batter into the prepared baking dish, topping it with the banana mixture.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden and edges bubble.
- Rest for 10 minutes before serving warm with optional toppings.
Notes
For best results, ensure bananas are ripe and avoid overmixing the batter.
