Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water or vegetable/chicken broth
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add butter and allow it to melt.
  2. Caramelize the Onions: Add sliced onions to the skillet and stir gently for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Prepare the Rice: In a separate pot, bring water or broth to a boil, add rice with a pinch of salt, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
  4. Combine the Flavors: Fluff the rice with a fork and fold in the caramelized onions, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Optional Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
