Description
Delightful crispy tacos filled with tender chicken glazed in teriyaki sauce, topped with fresh veggies and spicy mayo.
Ingredients

- Wonton wrappers (square or round)
- Vegetable or canola cooking oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the teriyaki glaze:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Optional toppings: shredded cabbage, diced green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha or spicy mayo
Instructions
- Heat 1-2 inches of cooking oil in a large skillet.
- Shape wonton wrappers into taco shapes and fry until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate skillet, heat sesame oil and cook diced chicken with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper until cooked through.
- In a small saucepan, combine teriyaki glaze ingredients and simmer until thickened.
- Toss the cooked chicken in the glaze.
- Assemble tacos by filling wonton shells with glazed chicken and toppings.
Notes
Keep an eye on the oil temperature; it should be hot enough to fry but not too hot to burn the wontons.
