Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  4. Toast the rinsed rice, stirring to coat thoroughly in the garlic butter for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add the broth and salt, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15–18 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest covered for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Rinsing the rice helps in achieving a light, fluffy texture. Garlic butter rice can be made a few hours in advance.
