Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine melted butter, buttermilk, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely in the pan.
  8. Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Spread cream cheese frosting over the cooled brownies.
  10. Slice into squares and serve.
