Description

A cozy dish featuring hearty sausages, creamy mashed potatoes, and rich gravy, perfect for any evening.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Pork Sausages
  • 2 lbs Potatoes
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel and cube potatoes. Boil in salted water for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Sausages: In a frying pan, cook sausages over medium heat until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Onions: In the same pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add sliced onions, and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Make the Gravy: Add flour to onions, stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth, simmer and thicken for about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Mash the Potatoes: Add remaining butter and milk to potatoes, mash until creamy, and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  6. Serve It Up: On a plate, mound mashed potatoes, place sausages on top, and spoon gravy over everything. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

You can prep mashed potatoes ahead of time and reheat with a splash of milk before serving. Customize the dish by adding sautéed mushrooms or a splash of ale to the gravy.
