Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the pork: Place the pork shoulder at the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Mix the sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine pineapple chunks, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and pepper. Stir until well incorporated.
- Pour over the pork: Carefully pour the sauce over the pork, ensuring it’s coated thoroughly.
- Set to cook: Cover the slow cooker with its lid. Cook on low for 360-480 minutes or high for 240-300 minutes until the pork is fork-tender.
- Shred the pork: Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred the meat finely and return it to the sauce. Stir well to coat.
- Serve and garnish: Ladle the delicious pork onto plates, serve hot, and sprinkle with optional green onions and sesame seeds for an extra layer of flavor.
Notes
Marinate the pork overnight for enhanced flavor. Adjust cooking times based on the size of the pork shoulder.
