  • 1 large Onion (sliced)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar or Red Wine
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • Fresh Thyme Sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prep the brisket: Trim excess fat and season generously with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Sear the meat: Heat olive oil in a pan and sear brisket for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Sauté the aromatics: In the same pan, add sliced onions and minced garlic, cooking until translucent.
  4. Prepare the slow cooker: Combine onion and garlic mixture with beef broth, vinegar or wine, brown sugar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, and thyme.
  5. Add the brisket: Place the seared brisket into the slow cooker, spooning some sauce over the top.
  6. Slow cook: Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours until fork-tender.
