Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 2 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each into a bite-sized ball.
- In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda.
- Boil each pretzel bite for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush each bite with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pretzel bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- For a cheesy flavor, consider adding grated cheese to the dough.
- These pretzel bites can be frozen and reheated in the air fryer.
