- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup grated apples
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
- Fold in the grated apples and walnuts if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the maple glaze by whisking together maple syrup and powdered sugar.
- Once the brownies are done, let them cool before drizzling the maple glaze on top.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Feel free to add chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
