Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
  5. Fold in the grated apples and walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While the brownies are baking, prepare the maple glaze by whisking together maple syrup and powdered sugar.
