Description

Delicious and moist pumpkin donuts glazed with a rich brown butter maple icing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the donuts are baking, prepare the brown butter maple glaze by melting butter in a saucepan until it turns golden brown, then whisk in maple syrup and powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Once the donuts are cool, dip them in the glaze and let it set before serving.

  • Store leftover donuts in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar in the glaze.
