Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Dip each cauliflower floret first in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry the coated cauliflower bites in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a small bowl, mix ranch dressing with hot sauce to create the spicy ranch dip.
  9. Serve the crispy cauliflower bites hot with the spicy ranch on the side.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs.
  • Adjust the level of hot sauce in the ranch dressing to suit your taste.
  • These bites can also be baked for a healthier option; just spray with oil and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes.
