Chicken in Herb Sauce

Description

A flavorful chicken dish cooked in a rich herb sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Chicken thighs or breasts (bone-in recommended)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, or rosemary)
  • 1 cup Chicken broth or stock
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides and add it to the skillet.
  3. Sear until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from the skillet.
  5. Add garlic and onion to the skillet, sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the skillet.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, reduce heat, cover, and braise for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid, add chopped herbs, and cook for a few more minutes.
  9. Serve hot with the sauce drizzled over the chicken.

Notes

Marinate the chicken in herbs and salt a few hours before cooking for enhanced flavor.
