- 1 package of puff pastry (thawed)
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and beaten egg until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a danish shape.
- Brush the tops with the egg yolk for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a fruity twist, add some fruit preserves on top of the cream cheese filling.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
