- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Stir in the boiling water; the batter will be thin.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Cool the cakes in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with coconut-pecan frosting once cooled.
