Description

A delicious and healthy twist on traditional Greek gyros, featuring marinated chicken served in a bowl with fresh vegetables, tzatziki sauce, and warm pita.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce
  • Pita bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the diced chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. In serving bowls, layer the cooked rice or quinoa as the base.
  4. Add the cooked chicken on top of the rice or quinoa.
  5. Top with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.
  6. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve with warm pita bread.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight.
