Ingredients

  • 4 oz ham
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 oz Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter and Dijon mustard together.
  3. Spread the Dijon butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Layer the ham, apple slices, and Gruyère cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice of bread.
  5. Top with the other slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Once the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy, remove from the skillet and slice in half.
