Description

Delicious homemade blueberry sweet rolls that are soft, fluffy, and bursting with fresh blueberries.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle blueberries and cinnamon over the dough, then roll it up tightly.
  7. Slice the roll into equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  8. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh blueberries.
  • These rolls can be frozen after baking; just reheat before serving.
