Description

A delicious and hearty dish featuring tender meatballs simmered in a rich tomato sauce, served over fluffy rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  3. Once browned, add the tomato sauce to the skillet and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a separate pot, bring water to a boil and cook the rice according to package instructions.
  5. Serve the meatballs over the cooked rice, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
