Description

A delicious Mediterranean chicken pita filled with marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and a creamy garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pitas
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken breasts with the marinade and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  4. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Warm the pitas on the grill for about 1 minute.
  7. Assemble the pitas by adding lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and sliced chicken.
  8. Drizzle garlic sauce over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or olives.
