Ingredients

- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
- 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the peppermint extract and green food coloring, if using, and mix well.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- During the last few minutes of churning, add the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger mint flavor, increase the amount of peppermint extract.
