Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the peppermint extract and green food coloring, if using, and mix well.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. During the last few minutes of churning, add the chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
