- 1 batch of brownies (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Prepare the brownies according to the recipe or package instructions and let them cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the peppermint extract and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture and mix well.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
- Cut the brownies into small squares.
- In a trifle dish or individual cups, layer the brownies, peppermint mousse, and crushed peppermint candies.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of whipped cream and crushed peppermint on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the amount of peppermint extract.
- Can be made a day in advance for easier preparation.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
