Description
Succulent pork chops with a golden-brown crust, infused with garlic and thyme for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Season the pork chops: Generously sprinkle salt and freshly cracked black pepper on both sides of the chops.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet: Pour the olive oil into a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops: Gently place the chops in the hot skillet and sear each side for about 4-5 minutes.
- Incorporate minced garlic and thyme: After browning the chops, add garlic and thyme to the skillet.
- Pour in the chicken broth: Carefully add chicken broth, deglazing the pan to lift browned bits off the bottom.
- Reduce heat and cover: Lower the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let cook undisturbed for 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in butter: Just before serving, add a tablespoon of butter to enrich the sauce.
Notes
For juicier chops, let them rest for 5 minutes after cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (145°F).
