Description

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops: Generously sprinkle salt and freshly cracked black pepper on both sides of the chops.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet: Pour the olive oil into a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the pork chops: Gently place the chops in the hot skillet and sear each side for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Incorporate minced garlic and thyme: After browning the chops, add garlic and thyme to the skillet.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth: Carefully add chicken broth, deglazing the pan to lift browned bits off the bottom.
  6. Reduce heat and cover: Lower the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let cook undisturbed for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Stir in butter: Just before serving, add a tablespoon of butter to enrich the sauce.

Notes

For juicier chops, let them rest for 5 minutes after cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (145°F).
