Description

A deliciously unique bread that combines the flavors of pesto and parmesan cheese, perfect for sandwiches or as a side.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup pesto
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, warm water, and olive oil.
  2. Add the flour, salt, pesto, and parmesan cheese to the mixture.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place the loaf on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
  9. Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For a stronger pesto flavor, add more pesto to the dough.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
