Description

A warm, buttery garlic bread with gooey mozzarella, perfect for sharing at any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a large bowl: mix the sourdough discard, warm water, and instant yeast and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add in the all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and melted butter; stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Fold in minced garlic, chopped parsley, and mozzarella cheese evenly.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the dough, tear into small pieces, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush with additional melted butter before baking.
