Warm and heartwarming pumpkin cinnamon rolls, perfect for chilly mornings and festive gatherings, drizzled with creamy icing for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk the dry ingredients together until evenly blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  6. Dust a clean surface with flour and turn out the dough, rolling it into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While the rolls cool, make the icing by combining powdered sugar, cream cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For make-ahead convenience, prepare the rolls up to the second rise and refrigerate overnight. Allow to come to room temperature before baking.
