Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk the dry ingredients together until evenly blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and turn out the dough, rolling it into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 1-inch pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls cool, make the icing by combining powdered sugar, cream cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
For make-ahead convenience, prepare the rolls up to the second rise and refrigerate overnight. Allow to come to room temperature before baking.
