Description

Delicious red velvet crinkle cookies that are soft, chewy, and visually stunning with their vibrant color and powdered sugar coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Once chilled, scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  7. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  8. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
