- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 unbaked pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
- In another bowl, combine molasses, hot water, baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the molasses mixture into the pie crust.
- Sprinkle the crumb mixture on top of the molasses layer.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the filling is set.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be topped with whipped cream for added flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
