Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  3. In another bowl, combine molasses, hot water, baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the molasses mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle the crumb mixture on top of the molasses layer.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the filling is set.
  7. Let it cool before serving.
