Description

A comforting slow-cooked meal featuring tender chicken in a creamy Parmesan sauce, served over orzo.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 8 ounces orzo pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the slow cooker and season with salt, pepper, Italian herbs, and minced garlic.
  2. Add the grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth to cover the chicken.
  4. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 4-6 hours until the chicken is tender.
  5. Prepare the orzo by cooking it according to package instructions about 30 minutes prior to serving.
  6. Combine the shredded chicken and cooked orzo in the slow cooker and stir well.
