Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake that combines the flavors of sushi with the comfort of a baked dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. In a pot, combine the sushi rice and water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. While the rice is cooking, prepare the salmon by baking it in the oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the spicy sauce.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, flake it into small pieces and mix it with the spicy sauce and chopped green onions.
  7. In a baking dish, layer the cooked sushi rice, followed by the salmon mixture.
  8. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy on top.
  9. Garnish with nori strips, avocado slices, and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
  • Can substitute salmon with tuna or crab for variation.
  • Serve with soy sauce and pickled ginger on the side.
