Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Sticky Mongolian Meatballs served with broccoli, perfect for a quick dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, green onions, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to make the sauce.
  5. Brush the sauce over the meatballs and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. While the meatballs are baking, steam the broccoli until tender.
  7. In a pan, heat sesame oil and sauté the steamed broccoli for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the meatballs over the broccoli and drizzle with remaining sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
