Description

A delicious pastry filled with sweet cream cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Add a few slices of fresh strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket.
  7. Brush the tops with the egg wash (beaten egg mixed with milk).
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter filling, adjust the amount of powdered sugar to taste.
  • Feel free to substitute strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
