Description

Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Shells are a delightful and nutritious dish that combines tender pasta shells filled with a savory mixture of ground turkey, fresh spinach, and creamy cheese, all baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cooked turkey and spinach mixture with ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the turkey and spinach mixture.
  6. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and top with the remaining marinara sauce and the rest of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers to the filling.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the filling.
